What HUBZ collects

Account details, activity on HUBZ (redemptions, reviews, follows, QR scans), location HUB (postcode and suburb), and technical data such as device and browser.

Why HUBZ collects it

To run your HUBZ account, connect you with local businesses, run the rewards and giveaway programs, and improve HUBZ.

How HUBZ protects it

Data is stored in secured cloud databases with encryption in transit. Access is restricted to HUBZ staff on a need-to-know basis. Row-level security rules limit what each account can read and write.

Who can see what

  • **Customers**: see their own account, their own activity and other customers' public actions (like reviews and leaderboard opt-ins).
  • **Businesses**: see their own business profile, their own customer activity for their business, and their own analytics.
  • **Partners**: see referral activity for accounts they referred.
  • **HUBZ admin**: sees all data for support, moderation and safety.

How businesses see customer activity

When a customer redeems a business offer or reward, that business can see the redemption. Businesses cannot see a customer's activity with other businesses.

How customers control their account

Customers can update account details, change email preferences, opt out of the leaderboard, and request data access, correction or deletion.

Data incidents

If HUBZ becomes aware of a serious data incident, HUBZ will investigate and take appropriate steps, including notifying affected users and regulators where required by law.
