1. About this policy
HUBZ ("HUBZ", "we", "us", "our") operates the HUBZ platform at hubz.com.au. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and handle personal information from customers, businesses, partners and visitors. HUBZ is committed to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide to us and information that is generated when you use HUBZ.
Customer accounts: full name, email address, password (hashed), postcode, suburb, nickname, marketing preferences, follows, saved posts, reviews, redemption history, HUBZ Points balance, prize voucher history and Local Legends leaderboard opt-in status.
Business accounts: business name, business owner name, contact email and phone, business address, ABN (if provided), business category, business description, business logo and gallery images, offers, rewards settings, subscription tier and status, staff mode PINs, growth credits, and analytics tied to the business profile.
Partner accounts: partner name, contact details, referral code, partner postcodes, referral activity and commission records.
Activity data: QR scans, offer redemptions, rewards earned or redeemed, feed posts you view or save, sponsored placements you see or click, reviews you post, businesses you follow, and searches you run.
Community HUB data: postcode and suburb information used to place you inside your local HUB and to derive HUB-scoped analytics.
Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and cookies / similar tracking.
Payment provider information: subscription and sponsored placement payments are processed by third-party payment providers (currently Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
3. Why we collect it
We use your information to run HUBZ, including to:
- create and manage your account
- show you local offers, rewards, events and businesses in your HUB
- track redemptions, rewards, HUBZ Points, prize vouchers and Business Growth Credit
- process business subscriptions and sponsored placements
- prevent fraud and abuse
- respond to support requests
- send you transactional emails and optional marketing emails
- improve HUBZ, run analytics and measure feature performance
4. Who we share it with
We only share information with:
- businesses you have interacted with, so they can see redemption and reward activity for their own business
- approved HUBZ Partners, so they can see referral activity for accounts they referred
- HUBZ staff for support, moderation and safety
- our service providers (hosting, database, email, payments, analytics, error reporting)
- law enforcement, regulators or courts where required by law
We never sell your personal information.
5. Overseas service providers
Some of our service providers may store data outside Australia. When we use overseas providers we require appropriate protections consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Cookies and tracking
HUBZ uses cookies and similar tracking to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure usage, and track QR scans, redemptions and sponsored placement performance. See the Cookie & Tracking Notice for details and choices.
7. Storage and security
We store information in secured cloud databases with encryption in transit. We restrict access to HUBZ staff on a need-to-know basis. No online system is ever 100% secure — please protect your password and let us know immediately if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
8. Marketing communications
We only send marketing emails to customers and businesses who have opted in. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or from your account preferences.
9. Access, correction and deletion
You can update your account information at any time from your HUBZ dashboard. You can also request access, correction or deletion of your information. See the Data Access & Deletion page for how to make a request.
10. Retention
We keep information only as long as needed to run HUBZ and meet our legal obligations. See the Data Retention overview in the Privacy & Security Summary for more information.
11. Complaints
